So we landed in cancun late last night tired, hungry, and ready for dinner. We had to find the car rental company, and pretty much every single mexican swore that they knew the way and that they would drive us there. It is totally different from the dominican. The people here are alot more "persistant" and usually don't take no for an answer. It kind of makes you feel like a jerk because you almost have to be rude for them to leave you alone. So we finally found our car and drove an hour south to playa del carmen. We arrived at a beautiful hotel with fancier bathroom shower and beds then back home and half the price! Not bad. We went to a place called the tequilla barrel and had nachos and margaritas and met a guy named kike. Hey was super friendly and was sporting a Calgary Flames Flag. When I told him that we were from Canada and that I was from Alberta he grabbed his flag and started waving it around and cheering. A very friendly guy he was. Then we went to the beach and back to the room for some much needed sleep.
This morning we woke up and went downstairs for a free buffet, eggs pancakes and coffee. It doesn't feel like we are in the "real mexico" yet but we needed to spend the day going to different Moto dealerships in town and look for scooters for the rental shop we are going to start in mahajual. So we spent all day talking to different people about insurance, pricing and all that. Just gathering info. Then we decided to go down to the beach for a dip and a cervesa. We went just in time, HAPPY HOUR!! 1 beer for a buck fiddy, not bad! Now we are back at the room getting ready for dinner. Tomorrow we are finally on our way to mahajual. It is a 4 hour drive south and we have a few stops along the way doing a few errands for my mom and gregs friends. Then we meet with some people and maybe just maybe get a interview for a job looking after some property for an american down there. I guess we'll see what happens. But that has been what is going on so far. We are going to hopefully find the Kingdom Hall along the way too and find out when the meeting is on Sunday and meet some brothers and Sisters, it will hopefully turn out to be quite the adventure! We'll see what the next week has in store. And post later! ADIOS!!!!!
