So we got up early Saturday morning, had breakfast and were on our way for the 4.5 hour drive south. It started out not too bad, we stopped at a few towns along the way, and they are expanding the highway, so there are a lot of patches that are brand new. We stopped in Tulum were Greg and mom have a friend that has a tiny little place. We ran the water, flushed the toilets and swept iguana crap from the floors. {no one has been there for 6 months} So we are on our way again and we are about 10 min. out of the next town, fillipe something, I am sleeping and all of the sudden *Bang* Our tire blows out in the midle of the highway. Now they have these trucks that patrol the highways and help people with engine trouble, or tires, or whatever for free. So not 2 seconds after our tire blows this truck passes, turns around and changes our tire. We thank him and drive to the next town to get a new tire for the one that blew, $65 bucks later and we are on our way.
Im not too sure what to expect when we finally got here, there was 2 hurricanes here in the past few years and so the big highway signs are folded in half and there's alot of dead mangroves and debri. But alot of it is coming back to life including the village. That is one thing I was wrong about in my mind, this "village" is tiny! But apperantly when the cruise ships land it gets pretty busy.
We also spent quite awhile searching for the kindom hall, through broken spanish I learned that it was close, but we just coud not find it. So a taxi driver said he would take us there for 20 pesos. Well we pretty much had been driving circles around it for the past day and a half. So we get to this tiny little building in the middle of two litle little casitas. An elder lives one on each side. We meet a sister named Jasmine and find out that the meeting is at 4. So we come back at 4 and it is HOT HOT HOT , they only have 2 ceiling fans and it just feels like hot air blowing! Guess it didn't help that we were both burnt from an afternoon of snorkeling. But at least there are big holes in all the walls where it looks like windows were going to go in but it's just big screens, thank goodness cause a nice breeze would come along the odd time. So the Brohers and sisters are so so friendly. Alot of younger people, some from Colorada, California, and the rest from here. There are about 30 publishers and it seems like another close knit family, so we are very excited about that.
But It is early this morning and I need to go have a shower So talk to you later!!

Searching
So we landed in cancun late last night tired, hungry, and ready for dinner. We had to find the car rental company, and pretty much every single mexican swore that they knew the way and that they would drive us there. It is totally different from the dominican. The people here are alot more "persistant" and usually don't take no for an answer. It kind of makes you feel like a jerk because you almost have to be rude for them to leave you alone. So we finally found our car and drove an hour south to playa del carmen. We arrived at a beautiful hotel with fancier bathroom shower and beds then back home and half the price! Not bad. We went to a place called the tequilla barrel and had nachos and margaritas and met a guy named kike. Hey was super friendly and was sporting a Calgary Flames Flag. When I told him that we were from Canada and that I was from Alberta he grabbed his flag and started waving it around and cheering. A very friendly guy he was. Then we went to the beach and back to the room for some much needed sleep.
This morning we woke up and went downstairs for a free buffet, eggs pancakes and coffee. It doesn't feel like we are in the "real mexico" yet but we needed to spend the day going to different Moto dealerships in town and look for scooters for the rental shop we are going to start in mahajual. So we spent all day talking to different people about insurance, pricing and all that. Just gathering info. Then we decided to go down to the beach for a dip and a cervesa. We went just in time, HAPPY HOUR!! 1 beer for a buck fiddy, not bad! Now we are back at the room getting ready for dinner. Tomorrow we are finally on our way to mahajual. It is a 4 hour drive south and we have a few stops along the way doing a few errands for my mom and gregs friends. Then we meet with some people and maybe just maybe get a interview for a job looking after some property for an american down there. I guess we'll see what happens. But that has been what is going on so far. We are going to hopefully find the Kingdom Hall along the way too and find out when the meeting is on Sunday and meet some brothers and Sisters, it will hopefully turn out to be quite the adventure! We'll see what the next week has in store. And post later! ADIOS!!!!!
